indiana jones and the weapon of A GOD
(OR INDIANA JONES GOES GREEN)
Most of the time, this site, tries to stay out of the rumor area, unless we hear a rumor for more than one source. However, news on Indiana Jones 5 have been slow, and we thought we pass this along. We got this from a source, that has been pretty good with Star Wars news in the pass, however all of this is hear say even from his point of view. He, himself, hasn't seen any of the following but only has heard about it. So please take this as a rumor for now.
"Kingdom Skull" writer "David Koepp" is working on a first draft for an Indy 5 being called "Indiana Jones and the Weapon of a God". This hardest part so far has been finding a story, or something for Indy to go after, that Lucasfilm and Spieldberg could agree on. Speildberg is said to be very picky on the next story line for Indiana and wants to get back to a more 'realistic' item such as the Ark from "Raiders". The current draft (or more of a story idea) has Indiana in the early to mid 1960s, and still trying to adjust to a married lifestyle and being a new grandfather. Everything seems perfect for the aging Indiana, however trouble times are sweeping the world after the death of President Kennedy. Indy is starting to feel like a old relic, much like the old relics he has searched for. Soon Indy gets a phone call from Charles Stanforth that a break-in has happened at the "record hall" at Marshall College. A diamond seems to be the only thing missing. When Charles wants to know how anyone could have known of this diamond, or why anyone would take it, Indy sits back to tell Charles of a story of how the diamond ended up hidden away at Marshall College.
The Diamond was used to power a ancient weapon known as a "Vajra". A weapon used by Indra the Hinduism God Of Lightning. The diamond is useless and has no power without the Vajra weapon. Once powered the weapon could rain down lightning, storms, hurricanes, earthquakes as it can control the weather. Charles wonders who would want the Diamond, Indiana only knows of one person, Rene Belloq. We flashback to Indiana and a young Belloq, who, at this time, are both working under Abner. Using flashback we learn that Belloq believes that the weapon had to be in Bulgaria and close to the diamond. He becomes obsessed with finding it, as having the weapon would insure a bidding war from every country. The film would almost be like two movies, one set in the early 20s with Indiana and Belloq's fall out as they both look for the Vajra weapon. Back in the 1960's story line, Indiana learns that Belloq has a son (or a former mentor of Belloq), who believes his has the Vajra weapon. It's a race against time as Indiana and friends try to find the weather controlling weapon before Belloq's son (mentor) and his team can unleash it on the world.
